Indian Culture Museum

This department established Indian Culture Museum in 1980 and it inaugurated by Shri Morarji Desai, then Chancellor of Gujarat Vidyapith. It has outlined the various streams of Indian History and Culture. It includes original historical sources, the plaster emblems depicting the development of Indian art, photographs, coins and other ancient materials acquired by the Department through various sources (including stone articles, fragments of earthen pots and of land soil etc.). Especially the museum has embarked upon acquainting the students and scholars in original sources. A developmental plan for this museum was started in 1986. It has amassed many photos and slides.

Gujarat Vidyapith Museum

Gujarat Vidyapith Museum was established in 2003. This museum is the integral part of the department. This museum is proven very useful.for the scholar's working on the history of freedom movement and contribution of Gujarat Vidyapith.

Located at Gujarat Vidyapith, Ahmedabad.

Established in 1977 under the Department of History and Culture, the Bhartiya Sanskruti Sangrahalay is an educational museum dedicated to preserving and presenting India’s cultural and civilizational heritage. Designed as a hands-on learning space, the museum allows students and visitors to engage with history through original artefacts, models, documents, and photographs—transforming textbook knowledge into a tangible experience of India’s diverse past.

Bhartiya Sanskruti Sangrahalay

Inaugurated on October 2, 2024, the Jamnalal Bajaj Art Gallery is dedicated to honoring the life, values, and inspirational legacy of Jamnalal Bajaj—an important associate in India’s freedom movement and someone whom Mahatma Gandhi regarded as a ‘son-like figure.’

This gallery serves as a dynamic cultural space designed for exhibitions, educational programs and public events. It hosts art displays, photo exhibitions, virtual activities and literary or cultural programs—functioning as a versatile venue to promote creativity and community engagement.

Jamnalal Bajaj Kala Kaksh

Located at Pranjivan Vidyarthi Bhawan, Gujarat Vidyapith, Ahmedabad.

Established in 2003 in the historic Pranjivan Vidyarthi Bhawan, the Gujarat Vidyapith. The Morarji Desai Museum celebrates the life and legacy of Morarji Desai—India’s former Prime Minister and Chancellor of Gujarat Vidyapith. As an integral part of the Sangrahalay Department, the museum offers a reflective space highlighting Desai’s values of ethical governance, simplicity, and public service.

Established in 2003 in the historic Pranjivan Vidyarthi Bhawan, the Gujarat Vidyapith Museum reflects the institution’s founding ideals and its role in India’s freedom movement. Founded by Mahatma Gandhi, who served as Chancellor from 1920 to 1948, the museum captures the spirit of nationalist education and self-reliance.

Gujarat Vidyapith Museum

Established on October 2, 2024, in the historic Pranjivan Vidyarthi Bhawan, this gallery is an extension of the Mahatma Nivas Khand. It preserves original felicitation letters and honorary scrolls sent to Mahatma Gandhi from across India and the world. These documents not only express personal admiration but also reflect the socio-political climate of their time—capturing the hopes, struggles, and ideals of a nation on its path to independence.

Titled “Echoes of Reverence”, this collection showcases the spiritual and moral influence Gandhiji had across diverse communities, offering deep insight into the emotional and intellectual connection people felt with his leadership.

Mahatma Manpatra Khand

Located at Gujarat Vidyapith, Ahmedabad.

This gallery marks the room where Mahatma Gandhiji stayed for a month in June 1936, observing silence and taking rest at Gujarat Vidyapith. He spent his days in quiet reflection, attending prayer meetings and sleeping under the open sky.

Notable visitors during this time included Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan and Dr. Rajendra Prasad. Gandhiji returned later that year to preside over the Gujarat Sahitya Parishad and stayed here again for four days.

On display are personal items and gifts received by Gandhiji, offering a glimpse into his life and his deep connection with Gujarat Vidyapith.

Mahatma Nivas Khand

Located at Gujarat Vidyapith, Ahmedabad.

A Pictorial Tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. This exhibition showcases 120 rare photographs of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, highlighting his life, leadership, and role in unifying India. Organized to mark his 150th birth anniversary, the display offers a powerful museological tribute to the Iron Man of India, inspiring values of unity, discipline, and nation-building.

Samagra Sardar

Located at Gujarat Vidyapith, Ahmedabad.

Located in Pranjivan Vidyarthi Bhavan, Sarva Dharma Khand embodies Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of interfaith harmony. From July to November 1926, Gandhiji led weekly sessions here, engaging students and citizens in the study of scriptures from diverse religious traditions. In recognition of its spiritual significance, the space was formally inaugurated on 18 October 1967 by President Dr. Zakir Hussain as a symbol of unity and shared wisdom.
