Management
The Department of Commerce was established in June 2025, offering Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) and Master of Commerce (M.Com) degree programs in line with the National Education Policy 2020 of India.
The core vision of the programs is to provide a unique space for acquiring knowledge, skills, and excellence, with consideration for the ethical values of Mahatma Gandhi, such as truth and non-violence. The objective is to produce creative, skilled, intelligent, ambitious, dedicated, and industrious graduates who contribute their excellence to the nation. Our B.Com and M.Com programs are designed with a student-centric approach, offering students the flexibility to focus not only on subject-related learning processes but also on multiple skills and soft skills, which helps them academically. We offer a range of entry and exit models, from certificates to diplomas and degrees, tailored to the student's preferences, enabling them to shape their own educational journey.
The department is located at Gujarat Vidyapith, Mahatma Gandhi Campus, Ahmedabad. Our campus is a green jewel of the city, a heritage site associated with Mahatma Gandhi, featuring an excellent library and state-of-the-art educational infrastructure. It also features a human-centric space, including creative and inclusive classrooms that foster a sense of belonging and inspiration.
We offer three specializations within the B.Com program: Advanced Accounting and Auditing, Economics and Finance, and Advanced Statistics, all of which lead to a three-year degree program. In comparison, M.Com offers a two-year master's degree program by the guidelines of the National Education Policy 2020.
