Hindi Bhawan, Gujarat Vidyapith, Ahmedabad

The Gujarat Hindi-Hindustani Prachar Samiti was established in 1946, with the vision of Mahatma Gandhi. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel served as its first president. Since its inception, the committee has been dedicated to promoting the Hindi language and Gandhian ideals. It organizes regular examinations on Hindi and Gandhian thought to engage students through various educational institutions. Supported by the collaboration and goodwill of academic institutions across Gujarat (around 1010 centres), these efforts aim to enhance the effectiveness and reach of Hindi language and Gandhian ideology among the students right from their young age.

Hindi Exams

Hindi Bhavan has been administering Eight levels of Hindi exams Hindi Balapothi, Hindi Pehli, Hindi Dusri, Hindi Tisri, Hindi Vinit, Hindi Sevak Khand-1, Hindi Sevak Khand- 2, Hindi Sevak Akhand. Students across Gujarat, right from the primary to higher-secondary level participate in these exams in huge number.

Gujarati Exams

Since 1956, Hindi Bhavan has been administering five levels of Gujarati exams - Gujarati Balapothi, Prarambhik, Subodh, Prabodh, and Vinay for the individuals without Gujarati background. These exams are helpful to those whose mother tongue is not Guajrati but they have to work among the Gujarati people. Such individuals can, through these exams, prove their proficiency in Gujarati language.

Gandhi Vichar (Gandhian Ideology) Examination

Mahatma Gandhi presented the world with his unique theory of non violence, Satyagraha and compassion for all. The exams based on Gandhian thought inspire the young minds to explore the Gandhian ideals and derive the relevance of them in the present scenario of life and society.

  • Commemoration of Gandhiji's Life (Gandhi Jivan Smruti)
  • Gandhian Ideology: Initiation (Gandhi Vichar Pravesh)

  • Gandhian Ideology: Contemplation (Gandhi Vichar Chintan)
  • Gandhian Ideology: Rumination (Gandhi Vichar Manan)
  • Gandhian Ideology: Reflection (Gandhi Vichar Mimansa)

Maharashtra-Gujarat Joint Hindi Elocution Competition

Elocution is an oratory art. It prepares the students for free and disciplined expression of language. With these objectives, the Maharashtra Hindi Sabha and Gujarat Hindi Prachar Samiti, Gujarat Vidyapith host a joint Hindi Elocution Competition annually on September 14th, in observance of Hindi Day.

Western India Hindi Essay Writing Competition

The Western India Hindi Essay Writing Competition is conducted in four divisions and is jointly organized by Gujarat Vidyapith and the Maharashtra Rashtra Sabha, Pune.

Gita Recitation Award Program

The Gita Recitation Award Program is organized jointly by Gujarat Vidyapith, Ahmedabad, and Gita Pratishthan, Mumbai. The examination for this scheme takes place on Mokshada Ekadashi -Gita Jayanti, (Margashirsha Shukla Ekadashi).
